Vegas’s newest active gaming spot is live at Town Square Las Vegas, and opening weekend is the cheapest ticket in. Free pretzels for the first 100 in line, 50% off for everyone who joins the email list, and a 13,000-square-foot arcade where you are the controller. Here’s what’s worth your money — and how to time it so you don’t overpay after the confetti settles.

Comfortable shoes required; couch-potato mode not available.

If you’ve done the Strip, done the observation wheel, and done the “wander the casino until something happens” loop, Activate is a different kind of Vegas spend: you pay to move. No VR headset, no joystick — your group runs, jumps, crawls, dodges lasers and frantically taps light-up walls together. It’s an hour that feels like a workout disguised as an arcade, and opening weekend at Town Square is the best-value window to try it.

The opening-day bargains are the headline

Grand openings are one of the few times a brand-new Vegas attraction actually discounts itself, and Activate is leaning into it.

  • Get there before 10 a.m. if you want the freebies: The doors open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, after a 9:30 a.m. ribbon cutting. The first 100 guests in line receive a free Auntie Anne’s pretzel and signature lemonade, a reserved half-off play spot so you can jump in before the general crowd, and a premium wristband for weekly play.

  • Everyone else can still get 50% off: Didn’t make the first 100? Join Activate’s email list on site or online during grand-opening weekend and you’ll get a code for 50% off your booking. That drops a weekday session to about $13 and a weekend session to about $15 — cheaper than most Strip parking.

  • It’s pegged to National Pretzel Month: Auntie Anne’s is using the Vegas opening to kick off its October promotion inside the store, so the snack isn’t just a random freebie — it’s the partnership headline. Expect the Town Square Auntie Anne’s counter to be busy right after the ribbon cutting.

  • Money-saver move: If you’re not a line-up-at-9-a.m. person, skip the scrum and take the sure thing — sign up for the newsletter before you book, lock the 50% code, and reserve a late-morning or early-afternoon slot online. You still get the deal, without the opening-day queue.

Activate turns you into the game piece

The easiest way to picture it is a real-life video game lobby. The Vegas location is 13,000 square feet — the second-largest Activate in the U.S. — with 15 mini-arenas. Each room holds three to 10 game variants, and with difficulty levels stacked on top, Activate counts more than 800 possible combinations across the building. You pick a game on a

touchscreen outside the door, walk in, and you have 90 seconds to three minutes to clear it before you hop to the next room. Most games are press-the-right-light, find-the-pattern or beat-the-clock challenges. You play at your own level — and your wristband remembers it next time.

  • Blue means team up, red means face off: Cooperative games seat two to five players and reward communication. Competitive games pit you against your own group. You can mix both in one visit.

  • Your wristband is your save file: Every player gets an RFID wristband that tracks scores, levels and points toward prizes. Come back next month and your progress — and the newer games Activate pushes out by download — are waiting.

  • No two visits play the same: Because the software updates centrally, Activate can drop new challenges into existing rooms without rebuilding them. General manager Clay Haton’s line to the Review-Journal was that you could return in a month and find something completely different.

Alpha Mode, a new challenge format, is also making its debut only in Las Vegas during opening weekend, so early visitors get first crack at it before it rolls elsewhere.

Six ways to stretch your dollar at Activate

  1. Book the weekday rate. The $4-per-person gap between weekday and weekend adds up for a family of four ($16 saved before you even walk in). Monday through Thursday, noon to 10 p.m. is your value window.

  2. Reserve online and arrive 10–15 minutes early. Activate recommends it, and it protects your slot on busy weekends. Walk-ins risk waiting while reserved groups cycle through the most popular rooms.

  3. Use Town Square’s free parking. Unlike the Strip, Town Square’s garages and lots are free. That alone wipes out the $15–$20 parking hit you’d take at a casino property.

  4. Wear the right shoes and skip the locker scramble. Clean, flat, closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes are required for some games. Show up ready and you won’t burn paid minutes changing.

  5. Play cooperative first, competitive second. Learn a room together at a lower level, then replay it head-to-head. You’ll get more distinct games out of one visit instead of bouncing randomly.

  6. Turn it into a half-day at Town Square. You’re already parked at an open-air center with dining and shopping. Pair a 60-minute session with a casual lunch rather than a separate Strip trip, and the travel cost per hour drops fast.

The LAS Discounts bottom line

Activate won’t be the cheapest line item on your Vegas itinerary, but opening weekend is the cheapest it will ever be. If you can get there October 3–4 with that 50% email code, you’re getting a brand-new, 15-room active arcade for roughly the price of a movie ticket — with a free pretzel if you’re early. After that, the weekday $25.99 session is the sweet spot: go with a group of three to five, book ahead, park free at Town Square, and play hard for an hour. You’ll

leave tired, a little sweaty, and feeling like you actually got something for your money — which, in Vegas, is the whole point.
