While the Bellagio Fountains are a Las Vegas legend, the Lake of Dreams at Wynn Las Vegas offers a completely different, more intimate vibe. Imagine a 90-foot performance waterfall, a three-acre lake, and over 5,000 LED lights creating a surreal world of giant singing frogs, floating astronauts, and holographic magic.
The best part? Like its Bellagio cousin, this multimedia spectacular is completely free to enjoy if you know where to stand.
1. The "Secret" Family-Friendly Balcony
Most people think you have to pay for a high-end dinner to see the Lake of Dreams, but there is a hidden gem for those who just want the view.
How to find it: Head toward the spiral escalators that lead down to the restaurants (Lakeside and SW Steakhouse). Instead of going down, look for the hallway to the right of the escalators. Follow it until you see the doors leading outside to an upper-level patio.
The Vibe: This spot is open to all ages, has no dress code, and offers a fantastic bird’s-eye view of the lake and the waterfall. There is a bar out there, but there is no requirement to purchase a drink to enjoy the show.
2. The Overlook Lounge & Parasol Up
Located at the top of the spiral escalators, Parasol Up (and the adjacent Overlook Lounge) gives you a great vantage point through massive floor-to-ceiling windows.
LAS Discounts Tip: This is the perfect spot if you want to escape the heat or wind. You can grab a cocktail and watch the "dream" unfold from a comfortable, climate-controlled lounge.
3. Aft Cocktail Deck
If you want to be right at the water's edge without committing to a full multi-course steak dinner, head to the Aft Cocktail Deck. It’s located on a tiered outdoor patio that feels like you’re on the deck of a luxury yacht.
The View: You are essentially at "splash level." It’s one of the most immersive ways to see the show, especially when the giant puppets emerge from the water.
4. Lakeside or SW Steakhouse (The Splurge)
If you are celebrating a special occasion, booking a patio table at Lakeside or SW Steakhouse is the gold standard. You’ll have a front-row seat to the show throughout your entire meal.
Insider Tip: When making your reservation, specifically request "Lake Level Patio Seating." These spots go fast, so book well in advance!
LAS Discounts Pro Tip: The Lake of Dreams Schedule
Unlike the Bellagio, which runs all day, the Lake of Dreams is a creature of the night.
Showtimes: Shows run every 30 minutes starting at dusk and continue until midnight.
Variety is Key: There are several different "sequences" (like the famous Singing Frog or the Lady of the Lake). Because each show is only about 3 to 5 minutes long, it’s worth sticking around for a couple of cycles to see the different stories.
Check the Weather: Because the show relies on projections onto the waterfall and lake, high winds can occasionally cause a delay or cancellation. If it’s a particularly gusty Vegas night, check with the Wynn concierge before making the trek.
