Free Family Halloween in Vegas: AREA15 Nevada Day Treats + Town SCARY — Both $0

Halloween in Vegas doesn't have to mean $40 haunted houses and Strip prices. Two of the city's best family Halloween events are completely free — one on Nevada Day (Friday, Oct 30) at AREA15, one on Halloween night (Saturday, Oct 31) at Town Square. Here's the plan: do both, spend nothing on admission, and still come home with a full candy bag.
Friday, Oct 30: Tricks & Treats at AREA15 (12–4pm, Free)
It's the 5th annual edition, and it lands on Nevada Day — the state holiday when school's out,
which is the whole point. AREA15 (3215 S. Rancho Dr) opens its district for free trick-or-treating from noon to 4pm.
How it works: Check in at The Wall to pick up a map of participating outlets, then make the loop. Themed tote bags are handed out while supplies last — arriving early is how you get one.
The grown-up bonus: Visitors 18+ can enter the Tricks & Treats raffle, with winners
announced at 3pm inside The Wall.
One catch: Admission is free but AREA15 asks you to RSVP for complimentary admission on their site. Do it ahead of time — walk-up spots at a free event on a school holiday go fast.
Optional splurge: The Halloween Family Rave runs 2–6pm the same afternoon on the Universal Horror Unleashed patio (from $16). Not free, but it's the one add-on worth
knowing about if your kids want to dance it out.
Saturday, Oct 31: Town SCARY at Town Square (4–7pm, Free)
On Halloween night, Town Square (6605 Las Vegas Blvd S) becomes Town SCARY. Shops and restaurants hand out candy along the trick-or-treat loop, a radio station keeps the music going, and the whole center is walkable end to end — no dark sidewalks, no doorbell roulette.
Costume contest: For ages 0–10, with rounds at 4:30, 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 and 6:30pm. Registration is at the radio station's tent in the square, opens 30 minutes before each round, and is first-come until slots fill — pick your round and sign up early.
Bring your own bag: Unlike AREA15, Town Square doesn't hand out treat bags. A bigger bag or bucket is a genuine strategy here.
The honest warnings: Town SCARY is popular — local parent guides flag long candy lines and stores running low late in the event. Arriving at 4pm instead of 6:45 is the difference between a full bag and a sad one. Pick a family meeting spot before you start; crowds drift.
The $0 Weekend, Mapped Out
Friday: AREA15, noon–4pm. Free admission (RSVP first), free tote while they last, free raffle for the adults.
Saturday: Town SCARY, 4–7pm. Free, no RSVP — just show up early with your own bag.
Total admission cost for two days of Halloween: $0. Spend the savings on dinner after both spots are surrounded by family restaurants.
Free, daylight-friendly on Friday and finished by 7pm on Saturday — this is the Halloween
weekend that respects both the budget and the bedtime.
