There is no atmosphere in professional sports quite like "The Fortress" when the Vegas Golden Knights take the ice. Between the medieval pre-game show and the "Vegas Born" energy, it’s a bucket-list experience for any hockey fan. However, between the Strip location and the popularity of the team, a night at T-Mobile Arena can get expensive quickly.
At LAS Discounts, we want you to focus on the "Go Knights Go!" chants, not your credit card statement. Here are our insider tips for staying nearby and saving money when you come to see your team play the Golden Knights.
Where to Stay for Maximum Convenience
Unlike the football stadium, T-Mobile Arena is tucked right behind the Las Vegas Strip, making "walking distance" very easy if you choose the right resort.
New York-New York: This is as close as it gets. The hotel literally opens up into Toshiba Plaza, the main entrance to the arena. You can walk from your room to the security line in under five minutes.
Park MGM: Located directly next to the arena, this is a non-smoking resort, which many fans prefer for a cleaner pre-game environment. It also features Eataly, which offers great quick-bite options before the puck drops.
Excalibur & Luxor: These are your best "budget" bets. They are connected to the arena area by a free tram and a short pedestrian bridge. You get the proximity without the premium price tag of the newer resorts.
The $4 Secret: RTC Game Day Express
If you aren't staying on the Strip, do not pay $30+ for event parking. The RTC Game Day Express is the best-kept secret in Vegas. For just $4 round-trip, you can catch a dedicated luxury bus from several locations around the valley (including Red Rock Resort, Green Valley Ranch, and Santa Fe Station). It drops you off at the Excalibur, a 5-minute walk from the arena, and waits for you after the game ends.
Save on "Pregaming" at Toshiba Plaza
Concession prices inside T-Mobile can be steep (expect $16+ for a beer). To save, do what the locals do: Party in the Plaza.
Toshiba Plaza: Two hours before every home game, the plaza outside the arena turns into a free festival with live DJs, fan activations, and a massive outdoor screen.
The "Convenience Store" Hack: Stop by the gift shops inside New York-New York or the ABC Store nearby. You can often find "2-for-1" tallboy specials or significantly cheaper drinks that you can enjoy while soaking up the atmosphere in the plaza before you head inside.
Beerhaus: Located right on The Park (the walkway leading to the arena), this spot offers a great selection of craft beers and higher-quality food at prices typically lower than what you'll find inside the gates.
Quick Insider Tips:
Bag Policy: T-Mobile Arena has a very strict "No Bag" policy. Small clutches are allowed, but backpacks are a no-go. If you bring one, you’ll have to pay for a locker in Toshiba Plaza, which can cost $20.
The National Anthem: Be prepared! When the singer reaches the line "Gave proof through the night," the entire crowd screams "KNIGHT!" at the top of their lungs. Don't be the only one silent!
Warm-ups: If you arrive 30 minutes early, you can head down to the glass at sections 1 or 16 to watch the players warm up, regardless of where your actual seats are located.
