If you’ve spent more than five minutes walking the Las Vegas Strip, you’ve seen them: those neon-colored, yard-long souvenir cups that seem to be the official accessory of a Vegas vacation. While they look like a fun splurge, they are actually the key to one of the most consistent budget hacks in the city.
The Fat Tuesday Refill Program is legendary for a reason. Once you buy that initial souvenir vessel, you’ve essentially unlocked a "membership" to discounted drinks for the rest of your trip—and potentially for years to come.
How the Refill Program Works
The concept is simple: you buy a souvenir cup (ranging from the standard 22-ounce to the massive 100-ounce "Monster" sizes) and pay the full price for the first fill. From that point on, as long as you have that cup in hand, you pay a significantly lower refill price at any Fat Tuesday location in Las Vegas.
Bring it Back: Yes, you can bring your cup back on your next trip! Whether it’s from last night or last year, as long as it is an official Fat Tuesday souvenir cup, they will generally honor the refill price.
Mix and Match: You aren't stuck with the same flavor. You can refill your cup with any of their famous blends, like 190 Octane, Cat 5 Hurricane, or Electric Lemonade.
Location Hopping: With over a dozen locations along the Strip—including the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian, Planet Hollywood, and Resorts World—you are never more than a few blocks away from a top-off.
LAS Discounts Insider Tips
The "Switcheroo" Hack: If you’re traveling with a group, you don't all need to buy the massive cups. Many savvy visitors buy one large souvenir cup for the refill price and then pour the contents into smaller, more manageable cups to share.
Keep Your Lid and Straw: It sounds basic, but losing your lid or that extra-long straw usually means you have to buy a new set. Most locations charge a small fee for replacements, so keep your gear together.
Freeze for Later: If you can’t finish your 100-ounce drink before heading back to the room, put it in your hotel's mini-fridge (or the ice bucket). These drinks are basically high-octane slushies and hold up surprisingly well for a "round two" the next morning.
Look for the "Extra Shot": For a few dollars more, you can add a "floater" of extra alcohol to your refill. If you’re looking for the best value-to-potency ratio, this is the way to go.
Where to Find Them
You’ll find Fat Tuesday outposts tucked into almost every major shopping corridor on the Strip. Some of our favorite spots to grab a refill include:
Grand Canal Shoppes: Perfect for a stroll through the canals.
The Forum Shops at Caesars: Great for people-watching.
Miracle Mile Shops: Conveniently located right in the center of the action.
Next time you're packing for your Vegas getaway, leave a little extra room in your suitcase for that plastic yard-long cup. It’s the easiest way to keep the party going at a fraction of the cost!
