Las Vegas Loves Canada! And These Downtown Casinos Are Putting Their Money Where Their Mouth Is

If you’re a Canadian thinking about a Vegas getaway but wincing at the exchange rate, downtown Las Vegas just made your decision a whole lot easier.
Three popular Fremont Street casinos — Circa Las Vegas, The D Las Vegas, and Golden Gate Hotel & Casino — have launched a new program called “At Par,” and it’s exactly what it sounds like.
Through August 31, 2026, these properties are treating $1 Canadian dollar as equal to $1 U.S. dollar on select hotel rooms, drinks, and even some gambling. No math. No mental gymnastics. No losing 25–30 percent the moment you cross the border.
Why This Matters (A Lot)
As of this week, the Canadian dollar is worth about 72 cents U.S. That adds up fast when you’re booking a hotel, grabbing cocktails, or hitting the slots.
Canada is also Las Vegas’ largest international tourism market. According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Canadians accounted for roughly 44 percent of international air travelers to Las Vegas between 2019 and 2024. But in 2025, Canadian visitation dropped about 20 percent, with airline seat capacity down nearly 30 percent.
Downtown casino owner Derek Stevens says this program is about removing barriers and sending a clear message: Canada is always welcome in Las Vegas.
What You Get With the “At Par” Program
Here’s how the deal works:
1:1 CAD to USD exchange on select hotel rooms
1:1 pricing on beverages at:
Bar Canada at The D
Overhang Bar at Circa
Bar Prohibition at Golden Gate
Canadian players receive a 1:1 exchange on up to $500 in slot play
You do not have to stay at these hotels to take advantage of the drink or gaming offers
In other words, Canadians can walk in, show their ID, and start saving immediately.
A Downtown-Only Deal (For Now)
This is a downtown Las Vegas exclusive, which makes it even more interesting. Fremont Street has been on a roll lately, offering newer resorts, better dining, and a livelier atmosphere — often at prices well below the Strip.
If you’ve been looking for an excuse to revisit downtown Vegas, this might be it.
The Bottom Line
Vegas wants Canada back, and these casinos are backing that up with real savings, not fine print. If you’re traveling from Canada — or have friends or family who are — this is one of the smartest Vegas deals we’ve seen in a long time.
