Southwest Up to 40% Off Flights to Vegas — But Only Through Thursday Night

Southwest just dropped one of its biggest fare sales of the fall, and if Las Vegas is
on your calendar between now and spring, this is worth a look before Thursday
night.
Here is the deal at a glance:
Up to 40% off select one-way and round-trip base fares
Book by Thursday, October 8 at 11:59pm PT
Travel October 26, 2026 through March 3, 2027
No promo code — the discount shows up automatically as a strikethrough on the base fare
That travel window is the sweet spot: late fall, the holidays (with some blackouts,
more on that below), and early spring in Vegas — basically the best-value months
to visit.
The Fine Print That Actually Matters
No promo code needed. When you search on Southwest.com, eligible fares show
the discount as a strikethrough on the base price. If you do not see the
strikethrough, that flight is not part of the sale.
Sundays are excluded. For continental U.S. travel, the sale fares are valid Monday
through Saturday only. If your trip hinges on a Sunday flight, this sale will not
help — plan around it.
Holiday blackouts apply. The sale is blacked out for continental U.S. travel on
November 20–23, November 28–30, December 18–22, December 24–29,
December 31 through January 4, January 18, February 12, and February 15. In
plain English: Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, New Year's, MLK weekend,
and the weekends around Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day are out.
Everything else in the window is fair game.
The discount is on the base fare only. Government taxes and fees are not
discounted, so your final price will not be a full 40% off — still a real savings, just
know the math.
New bookings only. The sale does not apply to flights you have already booked,
and here is the big one: if you change your itinerary after purchase, you lose the
promotional fare. So be sure of your dates before you click buy.
Not everything qualifies. Seats, days, and markets are limited, and the discount
will not appear on some flights during very busy travel periods. It is also not valid
on group travel, vacation packages, or special fares like military and government
rates.
Pro Tips To Maximize It
Use the Low Fare Calendar. This is the single best tool for fare sales — it shows
you a month of prices at a glance so you can spot which days carry the discount
and which do not. With Sundays excluded and blackouts scattered through the
window, the calendar view saves you a lot of clicking.
Book midweek for the deepest cuts. Tuesday and Wednesday flights historically
see the steepest discounts in these sales, and they are also the cheapest days to be
in Vegas — lower hotel rates, shorter lines, easier dinner reservations.
Stack it with a cheap stay. A discounted flight plus a midweek hotel deal is how
you build a Vegas trip for half the normal cost. Check the hotel side of
LASDiscounts for current room offers before you lock in dates.
Do not wait until Thursday night. The terms say "while supplies last," and the
best-discounted seats on popular routes go first. If you see a fare you like on
Tuesday or Wednesday, grab it — Thursday-night shoppers get leftovers.
Double-check the strikethrough. Before you pay, confirm the discounted price is
actually showing as a strikethrough on the base fare. No strikethrough, no sale —
do not assume.
The Bottom Line
Up to 40% off, no code, book by Thursday at 11:59pm PT, fly any time from
October 26 through March 3 except Sundays and holiday blackout dates. That
covers a huge stretch of prime Vegas-visiting season.
If you have been thinking about a late-fall getaway, a January reset trip, or an
early-spring visit, tonight or tomorrow is the time to book. Thursday night, the
sale is gone.
Book on Southwest.com — and as always, check the fare twice before you commit,
because changes kill the discount.
