Travelers Are Feeling the Pinch, But Las Vegas Has a Solution

​According to a recent survey from Experian, summer travelers are definitely feeling the financial squeeze. A striking 67 percent of consumers report that leisure travel is less affordable this summer compared to last year. High ticket prices, rising fuel costs, and expensive event admissions are hitting budgets hard.

​However, Experian also found that people are refusing to stay home. A solid 70 percent of respondents are still planning to take a trip, with only 13 percent choosing to cancel their plans entirely. Another interesting takeaway is that 36 percent of travelers are willing to go into debt to fund their getaways, and 19 percent plan to use credit cards or "buy now, pay later" plans to finance their travel.

Generation X travelers are feeling this dynamic the most. Despite 72 percent of those aged 55 to 64 saying travel is less affordable, they are actually booking the most trips of any age group.
