Unlocking the Secrets Inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

The Ski Lodge speakeasy is just one of several "hidden" experiences at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas.
The Ski Lodge speakeasy is just one of several "hidden" experiences at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas.

If you think you’ve seen everything The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has to offer just by walking the casino floor, think again. Tucked behind unmarked doors, hidden down vinyl-lined hallways, and disguised as everyday storefronts are some of the coolest "secret" spots on the Las Vegas Strip.

At LAS Discounts, we love a good insider secret—especially when it comes to the best food and drinks in the city. Here is your ultimate guide to finding the hidden side of The Cosmo.

1. Secret Pizza (The OG Hidden Gem)

It doesn’t have a name on the door, and you won’t find it on the official hotel directory map, but Secret Pizza is arguably the most famous "hidden" spot in Vegas.

  • Where to find it: Head to the 3rd floor (Level 3) of the Boulevard Tower. Look for a long, narrow hallway lined with vintage album covers between Jaleo and Blue Ribbon. Follow the records, and you'll find a small counter serving up some of the best New York-style thin-crust slices in the city.

  • Insider Tip: It’s open late (usually until 4:00 AM or 5:00 AM), making it the ultimate post-clubbing snack. If you’re staying at the hotel, you can ask for a microwave to be sent to your room for free to heat up your leftovers!

2. Ghost Donkey: The Mezcal Hideaway

Hidden behind a literal exit door in the Block 16 Urban Food Hall, this tiny, vibrant speakeasy specializes in mezcal and tequila.

  • Where to find it: Look for the small door with a pink donkey logo on it inside Block 16 (Level 2).

  • What to order: Their signature Nachos Especial are legendary, and the "Stealthy Jackalope" is a fan-favorite cocktail.

  • Insider Tip: This place is tiny and doesn't take reservations. If you see a line, it’s worth the wait, but try going right when they open at 4:00 PM to snag a stool.

3. The Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails

Part upscale barbershop, part raucous rock-and-roll lounge, this is one of the most unique "secret" doors in Vegas.

  • Where to find it: On Level 1 near the Chelsea Tower elevators. Walk into what looks like a functional, vintage barbershop. Look for the "Janitor" door at the back—it leads into a massive whiskey bar and live music venue.

  • Insider Tip: You can actually get a haircut or a straight-razor shave during the day. On Tuesday nights, they host "Faded Karaoke," where you can sing on stage with a live band.

4. The Ski Lodge (Inside Superfrico)

Hidden within the psychedelic "Italian American Psycho" restaurant, Superfrico, is a winter wonderland that feels worlds away from the desert heat.

  • Where to find it: Go to Level 2 of the Chelsea Tower. Head toward Superfrico and look for a plain black door with gold trim and a tiny ski logo.

  • The Vibe: It’s themed like a cozy Hokkaido ski cabin, complete with a digital "window" showing falling snow and a crackling fireplace.

  • Insider Tip: Order the Salty Sled Dog—the rim is decorated with edible "snow" (powdered sugar and salt).

5. Beauty & Essex: The Pawn Shop Entrance

Before you can sit down for a glamorous multi-course dinner, you have to walk through a fully functional (and very flashy) pawn shop.

  • Where to find it: Level 3, Boulevard Tower. The storefront is filled with vintage guitars, jewelry, and luxury goods.

  • The Secret: Tell the "pawn shop" attendant you’re there for dinner, and they’ll swing open a back door to reveal a stunning, crystal-clad restaurant.

  • Insider Tip: Check out their "Social Hour" from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Sunday–Thursday) for $10 deals on select food and drinks at the bar.

Bonus Secret #6: The Verbena at The Chandelier

If you look at the physical menu at the stunning, three-story Chandelier Bar, you won’t find this drink listed anywhere. Yet, it is the best-selling cocktail in the history of the resort.

  • The Drink: Called The Verbena, it’s a refreshing, citrusy masterpiece made with Herradura Blanco Tequila, yuzu-kalamansi sour mix, ginger syrup, and lemon verbena.

  • The "Secret" Ingredient: The drink is garnished with a small, innocent-looking yellow flower called a Szechuan Button.

  • The Experience: You are instructed to take a sip of the drink, then eat the flower. Within seconds, your tongue will begin to tingle and feel slightly numb (think "Nature's Pop Rocks"). This sensation actually transforms your palate, making you a "super-taster" for a few minutes. When you take your next sip, the flavors of the yuzu and ginger will explode in a way you've never experienced before.

  • Insider Tip: While it originated on Level 1.5 (the middle tier of the Chandelier), you can now order it at any level of the bar. Just ask the bartender for "The Verbena"—they’ll know exactly what you mean.
