The Early-November Sweet Spot: Nov 2–13, Between the Spikes

Vegas hotel pricing isn't a slope, it's a calendar of spikes — and the cheapest move in November is simply standing between two of them. Halloween weekend (stacked with the NHRA race, Oct 29–31) prices like a holiday. The F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix (Nov 19–21) prices like an event three to five times a normal November rate. Thanksgiving (Nov 26–29) prices like a holiday again. Between the first spike and the second sits a calm window: November 2–13. Book the gap, not the event.

Why the Gap Is Cheap

  • The crowds leave. Halloween weekend clears out Sunday night, and the F1 build-up doesn't fill rooms until the week of the race. Midweek nights (Mon–Thu) in that window are the softest of all — the same rule that holds all year.

  • The weather cooperates. Early November in Vegas is genuinely pleasant — daytime highs in the high 60s, clear and dry — without the summer heat or the December chill.

  • The shows don't stop. Residencies and headliners run straight through the gap. You're not trading the Vegas experience for the discount; you're getting the same shows with shorter lines and cheaper rooms.

How to Use the Window

  • Aim midweek. A Mon–Thu stay inside Nov 2–13 is the cheapest version of this trip. Weekend nights inside the window are still fine — just not as cheap.

  • Watch the edges. Nov 14–18 is the shoulder into F1 week; rates start climbing as the circuit build finishes and the teams arrive. Don't let a "close enough" date drift into race week.

  • Pair it with a deal. The Boyd holiday savings window opens Nov 1 and runs through Dec 29 — it overlaps this gap perfectly. A Boyd promo rate inside the Nov 2–13 window stacks two discounts at once: the cheap dates and the promo rate.

The One Number to Remember

Last year's F1 race weekend averaged $194 a night across 161 hotels surveyed, with downtown around $107 and premium Strip properties topping $500–$750. The Nov 2–13 window is the antidote to that number: same city, same shows, two weeks earlier, a fraction of the rate. If your dates are flexible at all, flex them into the gap.

  • When it comes to finding cheap flights to Las Vegas, flexibility can save you real money,  which is why we recommend Travelocity as a great place to start.
