Día de Muertos at Springs Preserve: $15 Evenings of Altars, Mariachis and Marigolds (Nov 6–8)

November's best family night out in Las Vegas isn't on the Strip. Springs Preserve's annual Día de Muertos celebration runs three evenings — Friday Nov 6 through Sunday Nov 8, 5 to 9pm — with community altars, mariachis, sugar skull decorating, traditional food and art vendors across the gardens at 333 S. Valley View Blvd. Tickets have been on sale since Oct 8, attendance is capped, and the Preserve expects a sellout. Here's the math and the move.

The Ticket Math

  • Nonmembers: $15 adults, $9 for kids 3–17; ages 2 and under free. A family of four pays $48.

  • Members: $11 adults, $7 kids — $36 for the same family of four — and members walk in at 4pm, a full hour before general entry. Gold and Platinum members get in free (up to 8 guests).

  • Online only: There are no walk-up sales to count on. Advance tickets at springspreserve.org are required, full stop.

What's Inside

  • The altars are the heart of it. Community members build ofrendas honoring loved ones — photographs, marigolds, candles, favorite foods. It's the rare Vegas event that's genuinely moving and genuinely fun in the same walk.

  • Plus: Live entertainment and mariachi performances, sugar skull decorating for the kids, traditional food and local art vendors throughout the grounds.

  • The setting does half the work. Springs Preserve's botanical gardens after dark, strung with lights, in early-November desert weather — cool evenings, no Strip crowds, free parking energy instead of $25 garage energy.

Bonus: The Museum's Community Ofrenda

The Nevada State Museum sits on the Preserve grounds and hosts a Community Ofrenda on

view Oct 30–Nov 7. Want a photo or keepsake of your loved one on it? Contributions are due at the museum on Thursday, Oct 29 (no live plants or perishables), and items can be picked up again Monday, Nov 9. It's a meaningful add-on to the same trip — especially for local families honoring someone this year.

The Move

  • Book this week. Expected to sell out, plus capped attendance plus online-only sales is the exact combination that leaves procrastinators outside.

  • Pick Friday or Sunday. Saturday night is the obvious pick for everyone, which makes it the crowded one. Friday and Sunday evenings are the same event with shorter food lines.

  • Members: use the 4pm door. The early hour is the best perk — see the altars in daylight, eat before the lines, and watch the gardens light up.

Three evenings, $15 a head at most, and one of the most beautiful nights on the Vegas calendar. Book before the sellout post goes up.
