Gilley's Free Line-Dancing Lessons = a $0 Date Night on the Strip

Date night on the Las Vegas Strip usually starts at $100 before you have even ordered dessert. Here is the exception: Gilley's Saloon at Treasure Island hosts free line-dancing lessons every Monday through Thursday starting at 7pm. Lessons, dance floor, live honky-tonk atmosphere — zero dollars.
THE DEAL
Free line-dancing lessons run Monday through Thursday at 7pm at Gilley's Saloon, Dance Hall & BBQ inside Treasure Island. No partner needed, no experience needed, no cowboy boots required (though nobody will stop you).
Monday is the sweet spot: Industry & Nevada Locals Night runs every Monday from 7pm to midnight with the free lessons plus drink specials. If you are a local — or visiting with one — Monday is the night.
What The Night Looks Like
7pm: Lessons start. Instructors walk the whole floor through the steps, and beginners are genuinely welcome — half the floor is learning alongside you. After the lessons: open dancing. The floor fills up, the band or DJ keeps it country, and you get to use what you just learned.
Around the edges: mechanical bull rides start daily at 6pm ($10 to ride, free to watch — and honestly, watching strangers on the bull is half the entertainment). Tuesdays bring karaoke at 8pm. Thursdays feature the Toughest Cowboy and Toughest Cowgirl competitions at 9:30pm, with $300 and a custom belt buckle on the line. Through October, Wednesdays have a Stein Hoisting Competition for Oktoberfest.
The $0 Date Night Math
Two people, Monday night: free lessons, free dancing, free people-watching, free live atmosphere. Add two drink-special cocktails and you are out the door for less than the parking would cost at a Strip nightclub. (Note: Parking is free at Treasure Island.) Skip the drinks entirely and it is literally a $0 date night on the Las Vegas Strip — try finding another one of those.
Know Before You Go
No partner needed. Line dancing is a solo-in-a-group thing — show up alone, show up with friends, show up on a first date. It works either way.
Wear comfortable shoes you can turn in. You will be stepping, pivoting, and spinning for an hour. Secure, smooth-soled shoes beat fashion sneakers.
It is a bar. Gilley's is a saloon with a full bar and a nightlife crowd — plan accordingly, and check their site for current age policy before bringing anyone
under 21.
Eat first or eat there. Gilley's has a BBQ restaurant, but dinner on the Strip is never the cheapest move. Eat before you come and keep the night free, or split something there — your call.
The Bottom Line
Free lessons four nights a week, drink specials on Mondays, bull riding and competitions the rest of the week, all on the Strip. Whether it is date night, girls' night, or a "we just got into town and want to do something fun tonight.
